Exchange 2013 SP1 Free Megabytes Error 1006 solution

Even though this problem have been popping up since CU2 – you can still sometimes meet it in newer versions of Exchange Server 2013 up to including SP1.

Log Name: Application
Source: MSExchangeDiagnostics
Event ID: 1006
Level: Error
Description:
The performance counter ‘\\\LogicalDisk(C:)\Free Megabytes’ sustained a value of ‘31,338.00’, for the ’15’ minute(s) interval starting at ‘7/10/2014 1:29:00 PM’. Additional information: None. Trigger Name:DatabaseDriveSpaceTrigger. Instance:c:

30 GB of free disk space for a system disk with no Exchange databases stored – is way enough for long living, but someway this annoying dumb checking trigger error fills up Event Viewer Application log with red flood and worsen the Server Manager Dashboard beauty of cleanness.

Fixing this problem is an easy job:
Go to “C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Bin” and open the “Microsoft.Exchange.Diagnostics.Service.exe.config” file.
Find the line <add Name=”Microsoft.Exchange.Diagnostics.Service.ExchangeJobs.Triggers.DatabaseDriveSpaceTrigger” Assembly=”Microsoft.Exchange.Diagnostics.Service.ExchangeJobs.dll” Enabled=”True” Role=”Mailbox” />
and change it to Enabled=”False”. Save the file.

Done! Now you won’t get this error message showing up again.
Cheers.
